Pada May 2009, Cube Ent memberitahukan 2 member pertama 4minute, yaitu JiHyun (leader) dan Hyun-Ah(lead dancer). Pada tanggal 11 Juni 2009, akhirnya 4minute merilis teaser siluet dari 4minute dan website official mereka. Dan pada tanggal 10 Agustus teser MV mereka > Hot Issue < dirilis. Dan akhirnya pada tanggal 15 Agustus mereka meliris single pertama mereka disusul dengan debut stage pertama mereka pada tanggal 18 Agustus.
